Types of Training

OK, SO HOW CAN I GET FIT??

When we talk about prescribing any exercise program there are 4 measures that we refer to;

Frequency          Intensity          Type          Time

*
       Frequency – This is concerned with how many times a week you will need to exercise

*
   Intensity – How hard or easy should each exercise session be? It can be low intensity (e.g. light jogging), or high intensity (e.g. sprint work).

*
       Type – Aerobic, anaerobic, strength training, core stability, flexibility, co-ordination. All of these are different components of physical fitness.

*
       Time – This Is simply how long should each exercise session last.

Example: For a 3-week season start up (pre-season) exercise prescription will be as follows;

*       Frequency – 5x / week
*       Intensity – High Intensity
*       Type – A different component each day to ensure adequate rest and recovery of energy systems
*       Time – Each session shall last approximately 1 hour
